Description
Viña Tondonia Reserva is a red wine produced by the Viña Tondonia winery in the D.O.Ca Rioja. The winery is situated in Haro (Rioja Alta), one of the most prestigious and privileged areas for the cultivation of vines in Spain. Viña Tondonia is a historic winery, the first in Haro and the third in la Rioja. The quality of their wines is a true testament to their 137 history. The grapes come from a low yield vineyard on the Viña Tondonia estate. The well-known Riojan estate spans across 100 hectares and borders the river Ebro as it passes through Haro. Viña Tondonia is considered one of the most spectacular estate in Haro, composed of alluvial, limestone and poplar. The harvest is carried out manually during the month of October. Viña Tondonia Reserva is aged for 6 years in oak barrels from the wineries own cooper, and undergoes 2 rackings per year. Finally the wine is clarified using fresh egg from the estate, and is bottled without being filtered. The wine then spends at least 6 months in the bottle before being placed onto the market. Viña Tondonia Reserva serves a great example of the classic Riojan style.
