Description
Founded in 1895 and still under the direction of the descendants of its founders, the Martínez Lacuesta winery is located in the center of Haro, La Rioja. Its founder, Félix Martínez Lacuesta, was a lawyer, vintner and politician, as well as the first president of the Union of Rioja Winemakers. Until 2009, the winery was located in Ventilla 71, which was their home for more than a century. Would you like to try one of the products from this centennial winery? We invite you to start with one of its famous vermouths, the Vermouth Lacuesta Rojo 75cl. Since 1937 Martínez Lacuesta has been making excellent vermouths with artisanal methods. During the process, the conzia (herbs and aromatic plants that are cold macerated in white wine) are aged in American oak barrels and added to the wine base at the same time as the citric acid, alcohol and caramel. The result of this process is a red vermouth that is bottled with a label that recalls the beginnings of this drink. Its delicious aroma comes thanks to the 24 natural botanicals that the recipe contains and remains the same as the one used for the first time in year 37. The three-year aging in oak barrels makes it different from the rest of the options on the market. With a drink of this vermouth it is clear why fashion has returned.
